Successful Completion of Shougang Changgang CDQ Overhaul and Revamping Project
On May 21, 2026, the Chamber and Boiler (including turbine condenser) overhaul and revamping project for Shougang Changgang was successfully charged with hot coke and operating, which EPC was undertaken by Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BSIET”) and equipment procurement & technical services was provided by Beijing JC Energy & Environment Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BJCEEE”).
This project includes Chamber capacity expansion and Economizer capacity expansion, boiler proper maintenance (including replacement of 1SH, 2SH and Membrane Wall), and turbine condenser modification. It covers the entire process from material selection, on-site construction, system commissioning to operation.
During the project implementation, the company adhered to the principles of lean maintenance, safety, and high efficiency, advancing all major overhaul tasks with high standards and quality. It successfully upgraded equipment quality and achieved closed-loop management of potential hazards, fully demonstrating the company's professional maintenance capabilities and project execution capacity.
To ensure the project was completed on schedule, on the 14th day of the first lunar month of 2026, the company's Executive Vice President Zhu Canpeng and Equipment Director Zhang Dong planned ahead, visiting two core equipment makers, Lunai and HBG, to deeply coordinate equipment production and delivery schedules, securing the supply chain in advance and eliminating obstacles for the smooth construction of the project.
The construction officially began on March 26, 2026. Project Director Lu Junhong, Project Manager Liu Ying, and Construction Manager Li Jie were deeply involved at the construction site, coordinating the construction plan and optimizing implementation strategies. An on-site approach of cross-zoning operations and two-shift continuous construction was adopted. The plan focused on dismantling and brick-laying of the Chamber, supplemented by chamber shell replacement, improving safety measures, and reasonably compressing the construction schedule. Daily progress meetings were held, with professional management personnel providing full-time supervision. Through optimized processes, the schedule compression of critical tasks such as replacing the shell of the hot coke observation holes in the Chamber and dismantling the chamber shell were achieved, laying a solid foundation for an early completion of the project.
Safety management was integrated throughout the maintenance process. Safety SV Wang Hongjie was on full-time duty on site, conducting multiple rounds of comprehensive hazard inspections daily, ensuring immediate rectification and closed-loop resolution. High-risk processes such as working at heights, hot work, and mechanical operations were strictly controlled, implementing all-staff safety management responsibilities and achieving zero accidents during construction.
During the overhaul, various professional subcontractors collaborated and coordinated efficiently. The project team proactively communicated with the client's production and operation department, synchronizing construction progress in real-time and promptly addressing rectification requests. With professional expertise, rigorous management, and high-quality service, the project team received high recognition from the client.
In terms of quality control, project SV Cheng Zhixi and Wang Li conducted layered inspections of brick-laying for the chamber, with joint acceptance by the client after each shift. Boiler installation strictly followed industry standards, with full supervision of tube welding and NDT. After completion, the boiler passed the hydrostatic test on the first attempt. Other overhaul items were accepted lot by lot, with each process meeting standards on the first try and trial runs succeeding on the first attempt, eliminating rework waste. In addition to the originally planned 66 overhaul tasks, more than 30 additional maintenance items requested by the client were completed, all passing acceptance on the first attempt.
Through the collaborative efforts of all parties, the project was fully completed and commissioned on May 21, 2026, successfully starting operation with hot coke charging four days ahead of the original schedule. Currently, the equipment is operating stably, and all process and production indicators meet the design standards. The overhaul and revamping project has been successfully completed, earning unanimous praise from the client.
